When the folks at The Outback Bowl needed a quick and professional turnaround for their 2010 Outback Bowl television and radio commercial production, they partnered with Shooting Stars Post (SSP). Although we’ve partnered with the Outback Bowl for over ten years, the production turnaround time always presents a challenge.
This project is a great example of a quality production successfully completed within a very small window of opportunity.
The two college football teams, the Auburn Tigers and the Northwestern Wildcats, were selected on Sunday evening and, with plenty of hard work, by the following Tuesday morning, SSP had produced a :15 and :30 television broadcast commercial as well as a :30 and :60 radio commercial.
Although the radio spots were traditional in their approach, the television spots were extremely dynamic. The commercials were produced using the Avid Adrenaline to edit the highlight footage, Maya 3D animation for the animated helmets and After Effects for particle effects and compositing of all the graphics and other imagery.
