The Canon 5D Mark III is an exciting addition to Shooting Stars suite of production equipment.
Receiving the “Gear of the Year” Award from National Geographic, this camera is getting much attention from film-makers and still photographers. The new flagship from Canon takes beautiful photos and HD videos, and is an improvement to an already outstanding camera. Shooting Stars has applied the 5D Mark III to technical, medical, commercial and documentary style film shoots.
“We have consistently been using the Canon and really like the look we are getting with the depth of field and low lighting situations,” says John Samaha, president of Shooting Stars. “Creatively it allows you to focus imagery in the foreground and let the background go soft. The 5D has terrific mobility in small spaces, low lighting scenarios and excellent for still photography and video. The versatility that it offers in terms of lighting and crews is a budget saver for SSP’s clients.”
The 5D Mark III has made the process of transferring digital files from production to post-production seamless. “It’s a snap converting the Canon HD files into the Avid Nitrus DX, saving time and money,” says John Samaha.
SSP offers a 7,000-square-foot facility, with more than 4,000 square feet of studio space, top-of-the-line high definition digital production and post production equipment, and complete in-house creative services.
